As one of the brains behind Save A Woman Initiative (SAWI), I appreciate the fact that ignorance kills yet just a little knowledge saves!
Only moving around with information about prevention, causes, symptoms and signs of cervical cancer to communities, churches, public gatherings and radio stations, the team at SAWI has managed to save many lives over the past years. This has been realized by the many “Thank you and please come again” calls received!!- Yes to share the little information with even bigger groups and refer them to service provision centers.

Cervical Cancer is Curable!!
We do not need to sit back in ignorance anymore!
We should seize every opportunity that avails itself to curb this gruesome disease!
These were the ideas I had in mind when I joined the fight against cervical cancer in my country.
It is still the most common and No. 1 killer cancer in women in Uganda!
Actually about 30% of women lie in Mulago cancer institute beds with at least 40% registering with too late Cancer Cervix!

SAWI, this is just the beginning. A lot needs to be done. I for one and on behalf of Straight Talk Foundation (think that) we can sensitize on radio together with SAWI. I believe with more sensitization, many women can turn up for screening and this is the key platform for saving the mothers of this
nation.
